schedule is more balanced and stronger than the MVFC schedule. Fordham the weak FCS entry.

Sac & Jax State would have been scorned by Bison fans as FCS, but what wasn’t?

It will be interesting to see if a Sagarin FBS 60 = FCS 60

Sac & Jax State would have been scorned by Bison fans as FCS, but what wasn’t? They aren’t any better now.

It will be interesting to see if a Sagarin FBS 60 = FCS 60

It’s a schedule full of the Montanas, Redbirds and SDSU like squads.

Sagarin ranked FBS teams similar to NDSU might be over ranked getting a boost from stronger FBS competition.

The reverse might be true for the FCS squads. Ranking dampened because of weaker competition
.

SOS is very similar between MVFC & MWC this seasons FBS schedule might actually be weaker than the old FCS slate?

Here’s the facts on SOS. It’s stronger, significantly stronger without Fordham.

I count
on the schedule
  • 3 State
  • 1 directional
  • 6 not state states
  • 2 by institution
If my count is correct the MVFC had 6 states, 2 directionals and 2 not states.

First big FBS game in Fargo is former FCS foe Jacksonville (not a) State.

The OOC schedule is old FCS foes, These are the conferences NDSU will see often OOC. It will be interesting. Maybe the schedule makers can break through for bigger games. Sometimes I’m guessing, but they won’t look on NDSU any more favorably now. Good football isn’t really a great selling point. The last thing the big names seem to want is signing contracts for a big game.

The FBS teams that were regularly scheduling into the FCS and MVFC won’t be any more eager for a Bison game now, MWC teams excluded, of course.

With the uproar in the SEC and Big Ten about self governance, at least in football, is gaining steam, It seems likely the P4 may set up their own self-governed playoff. That opens the door to the FCS joining the G6 and using the FCS playoff formula.

A United league like that should be able to get real Good media deals.

No NDSU schedule published beyond this season. Montana State @ Las Vegas questionable. Oregon game?

BISON FANS Expectations are pretty high. Boise history promises disappointment. Patience required. PAC 12, Sun Belt, MAC, CUSA. Really just the FCS Bison fans wanted in the first place. G6 is a great place for NDSU football.

The P4 is scheduled out several years. Better chance a few years down the road.

Gophers, already a rival, would be good. They have their nose up but pressure will build. Kansas State or Iowa might want another go, but maybe they have had enough? James Madison 👍

It’s going to be interesting.

MWC football power ranking measures and ranks teams based on efficiency ratios of critical data sets developed from season cumulative statistics or other noted parameters.

Result is a power comparison that can be thought of as the slope of a line, the steeper slope the higher the power ranking.

Closer the ranking the more equally matched

This new measure has not been determined to be predictive.

This is more on the Big 10/SEC split. Its USA Today so it’s questionable, normally not worth the time, but here it is

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/n ... 072802007/

Split seems likely. Doesn’t sound like football either. All sports, completely exclusive, self governed, self contained and maximizing profits.

Hopefully the remaining G6 conferences arrange exclusive TV deals, establish their own playoffs and bring in all willing FCS schools. Also a chance to join into friendlier geographical groups.
