NDSU to PAC 12

I'm still not convinced that Dome capacity is an issue.
I'd much rather see 19,000 there wit 5,000 wishing they could get tickets than 24,000 there and 5,000 seats left open every week.
Games were more fun when we felt lucky to over pay for seats. Nothing special about when if it's easy to get tickets.

The Fargo dome will go from a premier FCS stadium to a bottom of the barrel FBS venue. It’s not in the same league with MWC stadiums drawing on average nearly 25,000.

This year's non-Hawaii games drew 24,456 fans per home game.

It’s been a lot of years Bison fans have been predicting an FBS move. It’s the holy grail. In time the MWC may very well come knocking. Then everyone will be correct.

It’s about 17 years ago or something when I talked with Coach Bohl at WeFest before the FCS move. He stated NDSUs long term goal was FBS membership.

Give it time. It’s like prosecuting treasonous democrats.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't envision an attendance jump of 2/3 over the current average. We simply lack the people to achieve that. It doesn't math,

FCS will become a shell of its former self and everyone who took the jump now will benefit (like everyone who left D2 earlier than UND did). The rest of us are just going to be left figuring it out for the next 20 years.

Your comment got me thinking. After looking at their stadiums I am back to agreeing with Bisonoline and User1:

the Fabulous Fargo Dome is adequate at least for the MAC and it’s peers, If ISU red is adequate the Alareus might be too, maybe even The Dakota Dome,

I agree with you and Lakes about the admin. They are not publicly pushing any FBS move. But Maybe not destruction of the dynasty.

NDSU left D2 after it began reductions in scholarships and other restrictive changes. They were late (conservative with their success) so they had to start the new FCS Great West Conference. Similar restrictions by the FCS and/or conferences could be the catalyst to moving up again? Maybe even a new conference or conference division since NDSU doesn’t seem welcome anyplace else.

Agreed. I'm convinced that when it happens, the best scenario is a group move and the creation of a new FBS conference enabling retention of rivalry bus trip games. Bison nation travels well. Very well, but to expect thousands of fans to do several flights every season isn't realistic. One could argue that it could even result in fewer fans instead of more?
My mind is open to be changed, but that's my current opinion.

Only problem is according to NCAA rules is---a conference cant be invented so its members can move up to FBS. So you are looking at a law suit unless the NCAA does a waiver. But considering the NCAA reluctance to do anything in the best interest of the schools it wont. Not to mention the bigs arent going to want anymore schools to cut up their piece of the revenue pie.

NDSU admin should be ALL IN on talking to the PAC 12, Ask for an invite and smaller share, go ALL SPORTS

Use a PAC 12 invite as a reason to build a 45,000 semi enclosed ON CAMPUS stadium and NDSU keeps ALL REVENUE!
