We have some states in our division, and I think, with the Ivy, the original 13 colonies.

At least they aren’t NCC 2.0 That would be two strikes! I may have complained myself. 8-)

You are whining Lakes. Lots of so-called NDSU fans are. I am trying to present reality.

Does NDSU plan to shrink into FBS. Wheres the planned 20,000 students?

NDSU was just under 15,000 when they went FCS/D1. Go woke go broke. Now 10,000+ or so on campus 3 years running.

They still look like an FCS school. FBS? Where’s the millions/year for a bottom of the barrel budget? Where’s the FBS stadium? What corporations are going to buy the program with needed nil money?

There are reasons they haven’t called.

Take some pride. Step up for a change.

Things in the FCS are changing. The title is becoming a more valuable national prize. FCS has been very good to .NDSU. What has FBS done for NDSU?

Since the Mountain West announcement, UTEP Athletics has experienced a surge in activity, from fundraising to season tickets and beyond.

As July 1, 2026 approaches, the Miners are embracing creative, outside-the-box and forward-thinking strategies.

True enough. But UTEP is not NDSU.
The move to the Mountain West Conference for the 2026-27 athletic seasons makes sense for the most obvious reasons. UTEP is a better geographic fit (as much as that matters anymore) with less travel in the MWC, and it will make much more - an order of magnitude more - television revenue (that matters a great deal) than it made in Conference USA.

That isn't why this move is so exciting for UTEP. What's exciting is that New Mexico, Wyoming, and Air Force will be back on the schedule. What's exciting is Mountain in the name of a conference with teams in the Mountain time zone

The Mountain West is always where UTEP belonged, where it sure would have loved to be in 1999 when the unwieldy Western Athletic Conference splintered and the Miners' longtime rivals said bye.
NDSU isn’t a good geographical fit, UTEP is lowering costs and adding revenue dollars to their already 13.15 million dollar football budget.

There will be no huge increase to their 21,000 students athletic fees.

The Mountain West has never been home to NDSU, no ties, no proximity no history.
